In the heart of Ascot Vale, dine with us and enjoy white walls, dark furnishings, and a wall-sized sepia canvas of Rome's Spanish Steps. More traditional is our authentic wood-fired clay oven, minimal toppings on the pizzas and flavours true to the motherland, with imported produce including Roma tomatoes, truffle oil, buffalo mozzarella, porcini mushrooms. Our pasta menu changes according to season but will always include hand made pasta and gnocchi incorporating meat based and vegetarian sauces.
Pasta making workshops —
Experience the freshness and divine texture of fresh handmade pasta demonstrated by pastaia Rachele, owner of Melbourne's Italy 528. Rachele will teach you how to knead pasta dough by hand then turn that dough into a variety of pasta types including orecchiette, cavatelli, strascinati, gnocchetti sardi, maccheroni, sagne torte, and spirali. Rachele will then cook pasta sauce complimenting a variety of pasta shapes. If you love cooking pasta at home, you'll enjoy learning how to make authentic pasta by hand. The pasta workshops are conducted in groups of no more than 6. This is followed by lunch including wine and a sweet treat. Rachele can also plan a demonstration course menu which can be incorporated into a dinner party.
